The takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS, announced on the 19th March 2023, has led to questions regarding the impact on pension fund investments. The portfolio of the Sulzer Pension Fund (SVE) is broadly diversified and the devaluation of the Credit Suisse shares after the merger resulted in a loss of less than 0.02% of total assets. SVE did not hold any Credit Suisse bonds. The account balances are allocated to several different banks. The amount held by Credit Suisse was reduced to a minimum a few months before. The cover ratio of SVE remains high and, taking into account the occurred losses in value, amounted to 119.8% as of March 22nd, 2023.
